Lorita's Harvard Beets

3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
3 T. butter
2 T. cornstarch
1/3 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups cooked beets

Mix together and pour over beeets. Cook until thick and clear and flavor has gone through the beets.
