The night before:
Spray a large baking dish and add 12 day-old French bread. I used newer Italian bread and placed the slices over the bottome of the baking dish. Beat 5 eggs, 2 1/2 c. milk and 3/4 cup of brown sugar. Add 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp. chopped pecans. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning:
Sprinkle 1 c. chopped pecans over the dish. Melt 1/3 c. butter or margarine and 1/4 c. brown sugar in the microwave. Drizzle this over the pecans.
Remove from the refrigerator 30 min. before baking (to warm the dish a little) then bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle 2 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries over the top. Bake 10 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
