Mom Bond's White Mountain Icing

Boil until it spins a fine thread:
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. white Karo
2 T. water

Beat 2 egg whites. Keep beating and slowly add the above mixture and 1 tsp. vanilla. Frost cake.
