Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup Rice Krispies cereal

Directions

1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars, mixing until the mixture becomes creamy and light.

3. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter-sugar mixture, blending well until fully incorporated.

4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

5. Carefully fold in the chocolate chips and Rice Krispies, ensuring the cereal stays crunchy.

6. Use a tablespoon to scoop dough portions onto the lined baking sheets, leaving ample space between each cookie for spreading.

7. Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes until the cookie edges turn a light golden brown, while the centers appear slightly soft and underbaked.

8. Once done, let the cookies rest on the sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. Enjoy your cookies warm or store them in an airtight container for later—if you can resist the temptation!
